Vernaccia nera is a black grape variety typical of the Marche and very rare, with a very limited production. Used mostly in the production of red sparkling wines. The wines obtained are not too intense ruby red in color, the scent is aromatic and vinous, reminiscent of ripe red fruit, jams, withered flowers. The taste is soft and balanced, with little pronounced tannins and in the finish there is a pleasant bitter aftertaste, typical of the grape used. The black Vernaccia sparkling wine is excellent to accompany chocolate-based desserts but also dry sweets such as biscuits and traditional donuts. In the Marche tradition it combines in a unique way with the prized Ciauscolo salami.
