Gaglioppo is a southern Italian grape variety. Gaglioppo is ruby red in color with subtle garnet nuances. The nose is characterized by notes of ripe red fruit, cherries and morello cherries, accompanied by floral aromas of violet and spicy liquorice. On the palate it is structured, with an almost velvety tannin and a very persistent finish.
Food pairings for Gaglioppo include spaghetti with garlic, oil and chilli, Roast guinea fowl with polenta and roasted Mediterranean vegetables with haloumi.
