AMARONE
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is an intensely flavored dry red wine made from dried (passito) grapes in the Veneto region, in an area just north of the city of Verona produced from local varieties Corvina and Rondinella, with other grapes also being allowed.
Amarone has a dark and bright garnet red color, with orange or brick notes. On the nose is broad and intense. The prevailing notes are the fruity ones, with an opening of black cherries and blueberries, also in jam. This is followed by balsamic notes of aromatic herbs and spicy aromas.
Amarone is a perfect wine for game, braised meats, stews, roasts, baked lasagna, gnocchi with cheese, but also with long-aged cheeses, accompanied by jams or mustards.
