Bonarda is a wine of the Oltrepò Pavese DOC made with Croatina grapes. They are clear wines, ruby red in color with violet reflections, brilliant and of medium-good consistency. The nose is fine, intense, frank, penetrating and vinous, with fruity notes of marasca cherry and blackberry. The taste is balanced between the sensations of dryness and roundness and is slightly tannic and with a medium-long aromatic persistence.
It gives its best with the dishes of the great Lombard, Piedmontese and Emilian tradition - trolley of mixed boiled meats, braised meats, cotechino - and with great cold cuts from Oltrepò Pavese, Salame di Varzi at the top.
