DOLCETTO
Dolcetto is a dark-skinned wine grape from the Monferrato hills of northwestern Italy. It gives a wine of an intense ruby red color and purple hues. The nose is intense with fruity and floral notes of cherries, blackberries, plums, cyclamen and violets. On the palate Dolcetto reveals great drinkability and freshness with delicate tannins, medium structure and moderate alcohol content. It is a red wine of moderate softness with a persistent, fruity finish.
It is an excellent red wine for the whole meal, it goes well with cured meats and first courses such as agnolotti, tagliatelle with meat sauce, legume soups. As a course it goes very well with boiled or baked meats. It also goes well with young or medium-aged cheeses.
