FRANCO CONTERNO
In the heart of the Langhe, near Monforte d'Alba, stands Cascina Sciulun, an ancient farmhouse typical of the Piedmontese architectural tradition. The property, which dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, has always belonged to the Conterno family. "Grandpa Pietro" is the first to have started the cultivation of Nebbiolo vineyards.
No herbicides are used in the vineyard, and phytosanitary treatments are carried out with the use of copper and sulfur.
In the cellar, great attention is paid to every phase of the production process, especially the aging, in which steel and wood help to form the different souls of the great wines that are produced.
