Uva di Troia is an ancient purple-skinned variety found in Puglia. The wine obtained from the Uva di Troia grape is ruby red in color with violet reflections. Wines are generally dry with high-alcohol and moderate acidity. On the nose they have aromas of blackberries and licorice, with balsamic and sometimes herbaceous notes. Their flavor is spicy, with hints of wood. On the palate it is warm, fruity, spicy, full-bodied.
Uva di Troia goes well with many meat dishes, even in savory or spicy preparations, up to game dishes. Excellent with dishes typical of its territory of origin, such as sweet and sour lamb.
